Gay Celebrities

5 12 2008

TGIF everybody!! I know i’ve been M.I.A. as of late, but hey, we’re in a recession and people are getting laid off left and right, so I’m trying to do all I can to keep my penny making corporate slavery gig.

This past holiday when I was home I was having a discussion with Ralo about celebrities, and he feels like I used to feel about Eddie Murphy.  Read the rest of this entry »

What’s up with white folk and vampires?

25 11 2008

Happy Tuesday everybody!  If you’ve been under a rock, you probably haven’t noticed how much they have been promoting this new film “Twilight” as a “Pop culture phenomenom!” and have raved about it in the promotions.  If you don’t know, it’s a movie about some teenage vampire bullsh!t.  By now, you probably figure that the sources going on and on about how great any movie is is probably getting broken off by the studio in some form or fashion.  Whenever a movie is a big budget movie, they use the influence they have with various publications for them to spout off all this hollow acclaim, like “The BEST film in years!!”  or “A Phenomenom!”  blah blah blah. Monday Thoughts

24 11 2008

Happy Monday everyone! I know most of you feel pretty good because this week is going to be a short work week with Thanksgiving and all.  I’ll be going home for it, but my brain may not check into work at all these next three days. What a shame.

Hey, if you didn’t read Friday’s post about working out, I’d like you all to read it please.  I know a lot of people like to set fitness goals come the beginning of the year because they feel guilty for being sessile and gorging themselves on turkey, dressing, gravy, greens, mac and cheese, yams, rice, green bean or broccoli casserole, cabbage, sweet potato pie, cake, and whatever else big mama decided to cook, Read the rest of this entry »

Corduroy’s two cents: Working out

21 11 2008

Happy Friday ya’ll!  Today is going to be super and the weekend is gonna be super duper!  I plan on milking all of the goodness out of it, just as I hope you will.

I wanted to talk about something I feel strongly about.  Maybe I shouldn’t have called it my two cents, because it implies that it is information that in some situations wouldn’t be welcomed.  Being that this is my blog, then I shouldn’t care.  However, I recognize that this subject is a veeeeeeeeery touchy one for women, and I think more women read my blog than dudes, so I’ll be as gentle as I can. Ghetto Names

19 11 2008

Good morning everybody!  Happy Hump Day!!  I just came in to the plantation and I’m currently experiencing plantation bliss…. I sat down, opened my Outlook, and had NO NEW EMAILS!!  That’s a beautiful thing!  Do you feel me out there??

Yesterday I was talking about Ghetto Snacks, but today I wanna talk about ghetto names.  It may be wrong for me to call these ghetto names, because really they are black names, and it implies that what is ghetto is also black and vice versa.  I know you educated readers out there know better than that, and know that my intent is not to offend you or your ghetto named kinfolk.  It’s all love!!!! I hate talking on the phone

12 11 2008

Hey everyone!  Happy Hump Day!  I’m happy, and you should be too! Why, you may ask? Because we’re in the land of the living!!

I hate talking on the phone.  To give it more of a poetic flair, let’s say I LOATHE talking on the phone.  Why?  Well, whenever you talk on the phone (most people I think), you pretty much have to stop whatever you’re doing to seriously give the conversation any quality attention.  I hate that.  And the thing is, more times than not when I’m receiving a call, it’s interrupting whatever I’m doing to talk to the person.  Of course when doing something mundane like cooking or maybe even driving, breaking from that activity isn’t necessary.  I say maybe when it comes to driving because based on the conversation, it could be distracting. And dangerous.  If you are talking to your mom about what you’re gonna have for dinner, then you can probably talk on the phone and drive safely (hands free of course).  But if you are having a heated argument with Bonequisha on her reluctance to acknowledge that “conversate” isn’t a word, then you may need to pull over before you hurt someone. Freshman dorm

10 11 2008

Good morning everybody! Happy Monday! I feel super today.  It’s a notch below super duper, but i’ll take it just the same!

 I guess I’ll say a little about my weekend…

A friend was moving and had a printer and a scanner to get rid of, so I gratefully took it.  Now you may ask what this means for you, well…I’ll put some pics of yours truly up there for you all to see! Now how bout that!! Read the rest of this entry »

I am high

5 11 2008

Happy Obama Day ya’ll!  I sure am high. High on optimism and inspiration.  If you’re not feeling that, then you need to exercise those health benefits you receive for working on your plantation and see a doctor.  Read the rest of this entry »

Adventures in Cancun: Episode 1

4 11 2008

Hey everybody! I hope you all voted already. I did last week and it took 20 min from start to finish.  For all you that didnt and find yourself in long lines today, STAY YOUR ASSES RIGHT THERE AND VOTE FOR CHANGE!!!Ok, that’s enough.

When I was having breakfast with Ralo and Grady the other day, I said how we needed to take another trip.  Ralo concurred, I don’t remember if Grady did or not, but I’m sure he could use a getaway from stressors he has in his life.  The thing is, I don’t know where the money would come from to take a trip, cause Cord is on E and you can’t get blood out of a turnip. Is it a turnip or a rock?  But you catch my drift. Read the rest of this entry »

Home is where the heart is

3 11 2008

Hey everyone. I’m back and Happy Monday!  You’re reading the title and probably thinking that I’m gonna continue on this sappy streak, but that’s not the intent of this post.

So I’ll run down the highlights of my trip back home to Georgia. Read the rest of this entry »
